11 years ago now... I was a young photographer driven by finding that next pristine barrel, chasing surf trips away from comfort of my home California, inspired by the sport that gave a lot of meaning to my teenage years & looking to capture images like this one

I’m not a wildlife photographer but occasionally if I’m lucky, an animal gets in the way of my camera...
During an expedition to the Kuril Islands in 2019, I felt especially lucky in one of the most pristine wildlife encounters of my life.. just myself and a few others to witness

I jumped out of bed for an early ski touring lap to catch sunrise... to my surprise a warm glow radiated from Reykjanes and I realized that a new volcano just erupted. I texted my assistant Joel Barger from the mountain - who grabbed a long lens and shot the view over the bay.

I often talk about the colder regions of the world and am admittedly drawn to them… but to this day, the Napali Coast is still one of the most dramatic and stunning landscapes I’ve had the opportunity to photograph... felt a little bit like Jurassic Park

This beautiful chain of islands always inspired at the thought of deep water soloing among their prominent rock formations & sparkling shorelines.. but the cliff jumping is an equally incredible pastime.

Everyone has different reasons for pursuing the remote regions on our planet.. but one common denominator remains of the unmistakable feeling of awe when a landscape like this one stretches in front of you...

Patagonia is one of those places on earth that feels untouched by time... easier to commune with nature, distracted only by occasional rush of wind through the valley or a fish nibbling at my fly sitting on the water's surface.. feels more like a dream than a memory.
