I feel like if people are unable to solve the mystery of “why am I getting paid six figures per YouTube video” then they may not be equipped to provide useful analysis on more complex political and cultural issues.

I just got back from 10 days in Germany and the biggest culture shock on returning was the size of vehicles. Ours are inexplicably enormous. Was nearly forced off the road by a wide-body (only a driver, no passengers) on my very first bike ride. Why do we all think we need them?

I wish this was better understood and appreciated. The recovery from COVID was the first time in recent memory when low-wage workers did better than high-wage workers. All wage groups are better off today than they were before the pandemic, even as wage inequality declined.

Everyone's RTing this but Haley has endorsed the guy who's very clearly going to cut off support for Ukraine and force them into concessions. So who's really the winner here?

The *only* reason the total level of employment for foreign-born folks is exceeding that of native-born folks is the native-born population is the baby boomers are retiring. If you look at working-age people, employment growth for foreign-born and native-born folks is identical.

3 U.S. citizens have now been killed in the West Bank in 11 months. There MUST be justice & accountability. The Netanyahu gvt hasn't provided that & the Biden Admin needs to do more to obtain it. Those responsible must be held accountable & the DOJ must take action if necessary:

In Wisconsin, a sheriff appears to have pressured local officials to not use drop boxes for mail ballots: The sheriff is Dodge County's Dale Schmidt, a Republican.

Fresh mail! Truly amazing that the worst scandal to hit the GOP all year, leading to ongoing and frantic damage control, is just that they went ahead and published their actual policies. (Though the claim that he didn’t write it himself is, um, believable…)

I get asked why I went from being open to limited school voucher systems, to being a fierce critic now. Answers: 1) the results came in—and they were horrific. 2) what’s kept them going is a Christian Nationalist moment I reject and denounce. It’s okay to change your mind.
