"Before 2012 changes by Evers (governor now), Wisconsin had among lowest bars in America for student proficiency." "DPI said states that adopted demanding standards have gone back to lowering standards." National reading ranks: White: t-21st, Hispanic: t-25th, Black: 2nd-last.

Previously, Wisconsin's state test matched national NAEP standards perfectly, according to the federal government itself! 2019 was the closest in America, and 2022 was spot on. We used to chase the national pace. Now, we'll close our eyes as we tumble down the national rankings

.Quinton Klabon joined Tracy K Johnson to talk about how the NEW standard for proficiency on Wisconsin state tests is a -19- on the ACT. Isn't that a low standard for our kids? 🔊 for more information.

NEW WISCONSIN STATE TEST SCORE STANDARDS "Proficient" is now...a -19- on the ACT. Yes, parents across Wisconsin will hear their children are "Meeting Standards," only to have multiple UW schools reject them in senior year. Let's support educators and kids striving for better.

In addition to Pennsylvania, Michigan has become something of an issue for Harris. National polls and polls of other swing states mostly decent for Harris, but erosion in PA/MI hurts a lot in the model.

Seven years before the Civil War began, Wisconsinites defied a federal law that would have made them complicit in slavery. Then they met in a schoolhouse in Ripon to come up with a more permanent solution. It's a story worth repeating. badgerinstitute.org/documentary-pr…

The NFL can do a Friday night game tonight because the Sports Broadcasting Act of 1961 protects Friday nights and Saturdays for high school and college football from the 2nd Saturday in September to the 2nd Saturday in December. Tonight is the first Friday in September.
