"What people have been saying to me is that they're very scared because it's a very sudden change. “If it’s a cold winter, we’ll have older people shivering in their homes, and that’s unacceptable.” 📻 Me talking to LBC News on proposed cuts to the #WinterFuelAllowance

I was back in Westminster today. Despite much "bobbing" (standing up and down) I didn't get called in the Local Government urgent questions session but it was good exercise!

Solar targets were repeatedly missed by the Conservatives, leaving our bills vulnerable to the whim of the global oil and gas market. This CfD round marks a welcome change - but its success must be repeated in years to come. I urged Ed Miliband to ensure this happens👇

It was great to join the APPG on Water and get to grill Ofwat on their plans to help toughen up regulation of the water industry. It’s clear there are many different groups who need to work together to see this happen, and I’ll keep pushing for action to make it a reality.

With a 10% rise in energy bills next month, the Government's decision to cut the Winter Fuel Allowance will leave many pensioners forced to choose between heating and eating. The Government must think again. My comments on LBC last night 👇

Britain has a real opportunity to become a green energy superpower, but only if we invest properly. Yesterday, I pushed the Secretary of State on what steps the government was taking to not only increase energy production, but also boost storage capacity too.

Today, I met with representatives of GWR and other train providers in Parliament to discuss the state of our railways. We need a renewed focus on delivering quality services for customers that actually connect them with where they want to go - so it's good to see that recognised.

On the surface, the Government's new bill simply doesn't look up to scratch to tackling the sewage scandal in our waterways. Only a complete overhaul of this disgraced industry and a tough new regulator will end this crisis - this is what the Liberal Democrats are fighting for.

With millions of pensioners already struggling to make ends meet and energy bills rising, cutting Winter Fuel Payments will only make things harder. The Government must reconsider and act now to protect the poorest and most vulnerable.

Yesterday, I attended a drop-in session in Parliament with the Post Office. They are often the heart of our high streets, helping both individuals and local businesses manage their money. It was great to hear about their plans to ensure they keep delivering these vital services.

We must win hearts and minds to show that Net Zero is good for our communities, good for our pockets, and good for our economy. Community energy is the win-win-win policy that can do exactly this. That's why we @libdems are urging Labour to include it in the GB Energy Bill👇

I’ve pledged to stand up for lung health alongside Asthma + Lung UK. 1-in-5 will be diagnosed with a lung condition in our lifetime, so must improve the diagnosis and care of these conditions, properly fund research into new treatments, and work to improve air quality.

The Government's new plans to tackle sewage dumping will not be enough to stop this scandal- we need a complete reform of this broken industry. We need a tough new regulator and to reform water companies into public benefit corporations where the environment is put before profit

Our children are being let down due to poor SEND schooling. In Parliament this week, I highlighted how the hardline approach to absence and use of isolation - coupled with a lack of funding and unachieveable targets - are harming both pupils and parents. Things need to change.
