My Ss decided they needed a class totem animal that represented them. They chose the Kookaburra; reasons included - Because we fly high in our learning, Because we have a voice and we want to be heard, Because we laugh all the time in our class & They are clever, just like us.

Some deadly yarning today with the assistance of my new Indigenous Dreamtime reading cards!! I also introduced the yarning stick to help students honour our social processes - “Voice”.

Inspired by our Indigenous Dreamtime reading card session yesterday, one of my students produced this deadly artwork using microsoft paint. Her inspiration was family - her classroom family. LOVE IT!!!

Spent the morning building this. The plan is to add links to the whiteboard which take students to recorded screencasts, youtube clips, google docs/slides etc.. for their daily learning tasks.

1 massive positive to come out of our current situation. The chance to teach my own kids. Tomorrow they return to school and I’m already feeling down and jealous of their teachers. Pls tell me I’m not alone - must be some colleagues dealing with similar emotions?
