Great to take part in the 2024 Defence and Industry Conference in Canberra. Our partnership with Defence Industry is key to enhancing our current and future capability as we move towards a more focused and integrated Defence Force.

On August 18, we commemorate Vietnam Veterans' Day and remember the service of some 60,000 Australian men and women who served in the Vietnam War, and their families. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. Lest we forget.

On behalf of #AusNavy I thank those people in our Navy Family and many others for their courage in sharing their experiences. The Ceremonial Closing is an important opportunity to recognise the work of the Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide

During World War II, the U.S. Navy worked alongside Royal Australian Navy to conduct maintenance on US, UK, & Dutch submarines in WA. We now see the evolution, with #AusNavy participating in a STMP for a US Nuclear Powered Submarine (SSN) for the first time in Australia.

BZ to the crews of #HMASCanberra & #HMASArunta for their efforts in the rescue of two sailors overnight. #AusNavy has supported NSW Police Force & AMSA to retrieve the sailors from their yacht, ‘Spirit of Mateship’ which was adrift in heavy seas off the NSW South Coast.
