There was no shortage of amazing guests at our centennial gala last night! William Burns, CIA Director and Clinton White, USAID Counselor both spoke in honor of the #ForeignService100.

At a recent USAID Mission Directors conference, Rep. Barbara Lee and Young Kim spoke about the importance of HDP programs worldwide. Deputy Director Leslie Reagan informed the 80+ Mission Directors about future opportunities to collaborate on legislative strengthening efforts.

Accompanied Secretary Antony Blinken to discuss the ongoing coordination of the MSS mission and current resource situation in #Haiti. USAID continues to support the MSS mission efforts to help build the country’s long-term development and promote peace for the people of Haiti.

Today kicks off a HDP program on the role of parliaments in transforming digital economies with Members of Parliament from 12 countries in the Caribbean.

Currently, U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Lee (Rep. Barbara Lee) is speaking about the inclusion of women, youth, and traditionally marginalized groups in the digital economy. HDP is grateful for Rep. Lee, who was the engine behind the initiative that led to this program!

Members of the U.S. Congress Rep. Barbara Lee and Mario Díaz-Balart joined the Caribbean Parliamentarians this evening for an exchange and reception hosted by FIU and spoke on the importance of open dialogue between the U.S. and the Caribbean

Day 2 of HDP’s program with MPs from the Caribbean will feature sessions on enhancing digital infrastructure, leveraging the private sector for digital growth, and parliament’s role in enhancing cybersecurity.

Artificial Intelligence technologies present enormous opportunities and challenges for nations. In this session, experts from Estonia, the U.S., and the Caribbean outlined how to leverage #AI while avoiding common pitfalls.

USAID Counselor White led a panel on leveraging the digital economy to increase employment in the Caribbean. Counselor White previously was the Regional Representative for the USAID Mission in the Caribbean and provided excellent insights on education promotion and job creation.

I joined colleagues to launch the new, $3M USAID Youth Empower Activity in Jamaica, a program to help Jamaican youth build resilience & to empower individuals & communities to reach their full potential by increasing civic engagement & building crucial skills. #Empowered
