So sad to learn of the death of Kathryn Bevis. I knew her first of all as a kind soul who cheered other poets on, then as my student. Later, I watched her soar and I used her stunning, resonant work in my teaching. Thinking of her family and many friends. xxx

No better in Australia. Only around a half of patients with bronchiectasis in Europe perform regular airway clearance. Techniques and use of airway clearance management is heterogeneous, suggesting the need for clearer guidelines and stronger evidence. bit.ly/3v2CFGy

Bronchiectasis is a heterogeneous disease. if we want personalised medicine, we need BIOMARKERS to guide treatment Explore the pathophysiology of bronchiectasis by checking out our latest paper from Emma Johnson and Merete Long err.ersjournals.com/content/errev/…

Its time to shift the paradigm in bronchiectasis Thinking about bronchiectasis as an inflammatory disease means - earlier intervention - focus on non-antibiotic treatments - clinicians and scientists working together - Pipeline of new anti-inflammatory treatments Merete Long

For most of the past 3 decades, bronchiectasis has been treated as an infectious disease. A new Review in The Lancet Respiratory Medicine argues that bronchiectasis is primarily a chronic inflammatory disease and introduces a novel concept of disease activity: hubs.li/Q02FqqBl0

We patients were so pleased to work with Paul and Beatriz on demonstrating Airway Clearance Techniques that make a world of difference to how we manage our bronchiectasis. Patients - get referred to a respiratory physiotherapist, they can help you take control of your life.

Absolutely agree with this, and Prof James Chalmers and Michal Shteinberg are brilliant at patient-friendly communication. We at the European Lung Foundation’s Patient Advisory Group are incredibly grateful for their support.

Bronchiectasis is a lung condition you might not have heard of, but it affects more than 200,000 people in the UK and millions around the world. There are no treatments and it remains hard to diagnose, which is why LifeArc and Asthma + Lung UK are working together to change this.

We bronchiectasis patients are over the moon and incredibly grateful for all you have achieved and for what you continue to achieve to make a difference to our lives. We were totally neglected till you came on the scene. We can’t thank you enough.
