Hello! Today we created Twitter account of the Central State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art of Ukraine (CSAMLA of Ukraine). Our Archive is located in Ukraine, Kyiv, Volodymyrska str. 22a. We store 1,435 fonds (320000 collection units, 1.5b documents) csamm.archives.gov.ua

We invite you to use our information and search resource "Complex System of Informatization of the CSAMLA of Ukraine" (ksi-csamm.archives.gov.ua). It contains 120K digital copies of documents from our fonds, digitized inventory lists of the fonds and scientific-reference apparatus.

On July 13, 2023, we celebrated the 85th anniversary of the birth of Myroslav Skoryk (1938-2020) - famous Ukrainian composer, the author of the "Melody in A minor" (1981) and composition "The Moon in the Sky". CSAMLA of Ukraine keeps his fond №745 (includes 6 collection units).

Today we present 5 unique archival documents from our fond №506 - priceless manuscripts of outstanding Ukrainian poet Taras Shevchenko: poems "Thought" [1838], "Banduriste! Blue eagle..." (1840), "To M.I. Kostomarov" (1847), "Dream" (1859) and his letter to M.S. Shchepkin (1858)

Today we remember famous Ukrainian bandurist, founder of 5 chapels of bandurists, researcher of kobza playing, author of 250 scientific works, prisoner of Soviet concentration camps Bohdan Zheplynskyi (1929-2020). CSAMLA of Ukraine stores his fond №1168 (26 units for 1946-1996).

On August 4, we celebrate the 169th anniversary of the birth of coryphaeus of Ukrainian theater Mariia Zankovetska (1854-1934). She was the most popular actress in the 1900s. Photos in roles, articles about her, a shirt embroidered by her are stored in fonds of CSAMLA of Ukraine.

Today - 120th anniversary of the birth of prominent Ukrainian opera singer Borys Hmyria (1903–1969). His most famous roles: Mephistopheles ("Faust") and Sultan, Trohym, Taras Bulba in Ukrainian operas. CSAMLA of Ukraine keeps his fond №443, which includes 64 units for 1920-1980.

August 24 - Independence Day of Ukraine !

As a result of cooperation of State Archives Service of Ukraine, CSAMLA of Ukraine, FamilySearch (USA), a large-scale digitization of archival genealogical documents has begun! During the 1st stage we'll produce more than 100K digital copies of documents of artists from 500 fonds

Meet the new digitized fond! Scanned copies of documents of personal fond №129 of Ukrainian composer, pianist, teacher Mykola Apollonovych Tutkovskyi (1857-1931), containing 31 items for 1881-1975, have been uploaded to Complex System of Informatization of the CSAMLA of Ukraine.

Our common path is the path taken by the best to the highest goal – Independence. We are also following this way. Step by step, opening Ukraine to the world. Independence is an inner call to create something new, inspired by the times around us – in culture, art, everyday life.

Independence is multidimensional. It is element of figures and fates, the names of artists, writers, sculptors, architects, actors, composers, singers who created the nation, started directions in certain branches of art, devoted their lives to protecting the heritage of people.

Each of us in his place – defending our borders with weapons, protecting the artifacts of Ukrainian identity in order to pass on the spiritual treasures of the nation to our descendants. From those who were, from those who are, for those who will be – because we are Ukraine!
