The Grenfell inquiry report is out today. It's expected to highlight failures among builders, material manufacturers, sales people, fire-testing experts, politicians and the London Fire Brigade. But it has no power so the Government can ignore it. This is not justice for victims.

7 years for one report? Civil servants call this tactic ‘kicking it into the long grass’. The hope is that your anger at the negligence, greed and eventual loss of life will be bedded down. They hope you don’t care. I hope this is not the case, we should all be fucking furious.

‘Incompetence, dishonesty, greed’ Absolutely damning final report from Grenfell Tower inquiry lays out how residents were ‘badly failed’ by almost every single organisation • governments • TMO • Kensington & Chelsea Council • manufacturers of cladding & insulation •

The Tories' incompetence is evident in all the scandals that have emerged during their tenure, from Windrush, Grenfell, post office scandal, Waspi, and many more to the blood scandal. Their failures have led to lost and ruined lives.

The treatment of the victims of #Grenfell, their families, and the wider impacted community has been shameful. The report confirms what we already know—that we live in a society where a hierarchy of human worth is constructed around race and class.

“This tragedy has blocked the good memories I have of Moses; when I think of my brother, I have to think about him in that inferno.’ Channel 4 News exclusively speaks to two bereaved sisters whose brothers died in the Grenfell fire.

On the heels of the Grenfell Inquiry report. Someone who lives in this area has just told me these flats have been investigated for asbestos contamination in the past too. The physical and mental wellbeing of these people is a complete non-issue for anyone in government.

2 years ago, Chris Kaba was killed by officer Martyn Blake in Streatham. Blake, now charged with murder, goes on trial Oct 2. We stand with Chris's family as they fight for accountability. The impunity that allows Black lives to be taken without consequence must end.

Several agencies have stated that the Home Office are biased and it's unacceptable that Windrush victims are being treated worse than during the scandal. The ombudsman also supports the victim claims. No Justice Yvette Cooper Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan The Labour Party #windrush #compensation

when you challenged them for doing so, not one person would stand for it. But when it's the Metropolitan Police the rules are different. They serve different interests. Kaba's family must have justice. Blake must be properly tried, but that is nowhere near enough.

This report shows us what many victims have and still are experiencing, The compensation scheme not looking at evidence, leading to low or no compensation offers. It’s alarming to think of all the victims who have walked away with no justice at all!

charlotte Really hope the current Government demonstrates leadership in resolving, firstly #windrush compensation and in parallel any legal status issues for our Caribbean brothers and sisters 🙏🏻

Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman Compensation scheme has numerous failures, yet it persists, causing further suffering for the victims. Those receiving intentionally low payments will now wait another two years while ombudsman investigate, only to be informed that the decision ultimately rests with Home Office.

Farhad moved to Manchester when 15. He's now a grandfather. But from 2015, he was targeted by the Home Office. He lost his job and his home, faced homelessness and destitution, and was unable to keep up with thousands of pounds in visa fees.🧵 manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-m…

This new report highlights the dire problems in the Windrush Compensation Scheme, which prevent people accessing the justice & compensation they deserve. We see these errors and mishandling of claims in our work: poor decisions, evidence not properly considered, and unfair rules.
