After the GEMS measurements, there was a major escalation of the #Ruang #eruption , producing a high-level umbrella cloud. Higher SO₂ emissions are expected, with stratospheric injection likely. For reference, the 2002 #Ruang eruption emitted ~0.1 Tg SO₂.
