The First Fully Islamic Dirham in History. Umayyad Dynasty. Caliph Abd al-Malik bin Marwan (r. 65-86 AH). Year 79 AH. Damascus Mint. Weight 2.8 gms. Companions of the Prophet Muhammad (SA) were alive when this coin was struck. Chapter 112 (al-Ikhlaas) visible on the reverse.
