Environmental defenders play a crucial role in protecting our world, but when faced with environmental violations, remedies like court action, strengthened legal frameworks and empowering communities to stand up for their rights are all vital in achieving environmental Justice.

Sand mining activities in this region are often done contrary to the conditions of the wetland user permits. This has had and will continue to have adverse effects on the region’s fragile eco system unless there is immediate intervention.
