We’ve used the phrase “creating tension”, but how do we accomplish that through the middle of our body?

Setting the hips up to create ER and increase usable tension throughout the stride phrase typically fits in this format:

1. The midline or the back hip travels forward while

We talked about establishing the hinge in the back hip, but why is it so important?

To simplify it, the hinge set us up to allow the hips to move freely and travel forward without the back knee and foot losing composition over the rubber.

If we are “throwing on stilts” the

Find yourself moving slowly down the mound? Try to make your shoulders and hips match the slope as he move down the mound.

Whenever we see the front hip hike up and elevate, we know we’re slowing ourselves down and preventing ourselves from accepting momentum provided by the

The janitor drill has been shared for many years and has more than likely been spotted on your feed. It’s important to understand the focus and why we do this drill, so turn your volume up and give in a listen as to how we use this drill properly 💪

The goal should be to challenge yourself to simplify the delivery as much as you possibly can.

-Gather
-Ride
-Rotate

Gather and load over the back leg and hip, ride that closure through the stride phase and rotate the back hip as you land into foot strike, to transfer built up

Keeping this one short and simple, I’m sure you’ve heard the concept of parallel planes, but why is it so important?

In essence, the more contralateral tilt we create through the stride phase, the harder it is to create separation.

If you were to try and stand up right and

The goal is simple:

Allow the lead to assist with closing off the back hip and hiding it away from the catcher.

Hold that position to create tension through the middle of your body.

Unleash that tension as you rotate into foot strike to leverage the upper half.

Want to know if your stuff is good or not?

Throw to live hitters and tell the hitter what’s coming.

Using a personal experience from my old college days, every winter in our first two live sessions we had to tell the hitter what was coming.

Not only did this remove the doubt

Most players make the mistake of only rolling out the area of discomfort or pain when doing tissue work, rather than the areas actually affecting it from the north and south of the problem.

Every once in a while, when we’re feeling a little bit, beat up, it’s good to do a full

The hips work in an inverse relationship. This is why it’s so important for the lead hip to stay closed as we move through the stride phase.

If the front hip begins to open, you’ll often see that the back hip begins rolling into internal rotation, rather than firing and being

The leg kick assists with pelvic coil encounter rotation.

The load phase assist with allowing the athlete to move through the stride phase without losing composition over the rubber.

The back hip fires into internal rotation, sending energy down into the floor, then

Not sure why med balls are beneficial for athletes?

What we’ve learned overtime in the weight room is that as resistance is applied, the body starts to self organize and find better ways to accomplish tasks with minimizing stress.

Something as simple as an 8 to 10 pound med

The stride phase is simplified into three parts:

1. Allowing the waist line to travel forward while maintaining composition over the rubber
2. Maintaining rhythmic tempo to allow fluidity and athleticism to occur
3. To gain momentum organically in order to utilize and accept

You’ve probably seen us using a yoga map before, but why do we use it?

To simplify the reason, we want to remove grounds stability in some specific drills in order to expose in efficiencies that happen in the middle of our body. It exaggerates where the phase occurs, and it will

Be mindful that this does change the overall work value and stress that you create over your throwing program. How does the 7 ounce

Are you dragging or leveraging your backside through your delivery?

This often be seen based on how early the rotation phase occurs, and if the glove side is the first movement of rotation. If the glove side is pulling off to initiate, it is more likely that the back hip is

It’s always fun to watch big league guys like @iank_tkb compete in live ABs - watching them use their arsenal effectively and command the zone and expand off of it.

Things they consider when they’re in late counts (2 strike counts):

-What has the hitter offered at?
-Where does

One of the biggest mistakes that a lot of people make with throwing their change up is trying to overpronate or make it do too much.

Let the grip do the work, don’t over complicate the pitch. Focus on going middle-middle with the pitch and let the grip do the work to create the
