Read Neil Lewis, Jr., PhD at The Brookings Institution today. “One of the primary lessons I have learned […] doing, and studying, engaged research is that if we as academics do the work to take care of the people, the people will do their part to take care of us.” brookings.edu/articles/unive…

New paper out in Nature Reviews Psychology with the one and only Neil Lewis, Jr., PhD! In it, we ask, "When and why do people conceal their identities?" Our answer? It depends! Person, identity, and context all come together to dynamically determine how people present their identities.

A Perspective in Nature Reviews Psychology proposes a model of identity concealment that makes specific predictions about when people choose to engage in concealment that applies to a broad range of motives and identities. 🔒 go.nature.com/3Rn8Lod

Does anyone know of any good review papers on prejudice reduction, ideally with an emphasis on experimental approaches? I know about the Levy-Paluck ones but surely there must be other good ones out there, too, right?

Absolute fucking bullshit from Northwestern . This is such a terrible situation, and the NU faculty absolutely have to stand up for their colleagues. We all do, b/c this is the future for profs. You stand between physical violence and your students, and you will be arrested 1/

Didn’t expect to be this moved, but Biden’s decision to step down—an incredibly hard thing for an ambitious politician—reminds how high the stakes are. Trump poses a grave threat to democracy & the party most determined to defend it needs its best athletes in the fight.

I'm running a study where participants sit around a living room. I want to put a 360-degree camera (eg an Owl) in the middle so it can capture their faces, but I need it to save the video without being connected to a laptop (ie not an Owl). Does anyone know of anything like that?
