Almost 1 year ago, our '58:7' emergency accommodation for rough sleepers opened in Gateshead. The first of its kind in the area. Before opening, our Senior Project Worker Bupe gave us a tour of the PIE (psychologically informed environment) 6-bed house vimeo.com/732131953

I’m immensely proud to be the SRO for this partnership and now we have a microsite. We’re working across six LA areas across multiple sectors to reform the system for those who are having a hard time. We’re seeing lives change and with this partnership, hopefully system will too

We’re going to launch a micro site soon with more learning on and pleas for advice, support and critique. We’re learning and I think we’re onto something. Hopefully it can contribute to the change we need to see. End/

There’s so much more but for now, I’m proud that a single caseworker is outperforming in a few weeks what a network of poorly connected specialists have been kicking around for many many years. This work by Changing Futures Northumbria & Oasis Community Housing is immense. 11/

Finally, and this will rankle with many, let’s put specialisation in its box. A collection of specialists with referral routes between creates an ecosystem that is less than the sum of its parts. This is really expensive and ineffective. We need specialists. But 9/
