It's day four of National Work Zone Awareness.

Tip of the day: Keep your distance. Rear-end crashes are extremely common in work zones – maintain extra space between you and the person in front of you at all times and be alert and watch for sudden stops.

Work Zones are temporary. Actions behind the wheel last forever. When you pass by a work zone, follow these tips to keep crews safe:

1. Keep your distance.
2. Slow down.
3. Use an alternate route when possible.
4. Obey all speed / warning signs.
5. Be alert for all road users.
