Yesterday, we conducted an emergency exercise drill at @sfsu & local hospitals. Thank you to our partners & volunteers including San Francisco Emergency Medical Services Agency, SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT MEDIA, San Francisco Department of Emergency Management & SF State. Although we hope they never come, preparing for mass casualty events now will save lives in the future.

The 2nd alarm fire at Clay and Lyon has been knocked down as firefighters continue to extinguish fire in void spaces and confirm all fire is out.
Smoke conditions have improved considerably.

Firefighters continue to work to hold this 2nd alarm fire to the building of origin. 60 firefighters now in scene.

Media staging for this fire is on Clay, at Lyon. Approach from the east.

Lyon and Clay is now a second alarm fire. Heavy fire from all 4 floors. Avoid the area.
Residents advised to shelter in place if heavy smoke is in your area.

Avoid the area of Alemany and Silver as Pacific Gas & Electric responds to assist #yourSFFD after a vehicle struck a building’s gas meter.
Paramedics are assessing injuries at the scene.

#yourSFFD has closed Monterey Blvd at Santa Ana in Balboa Terrace due to an underground electrical fire. Pacific Gas & Electric is responding.
Seek alternate routes, no evacuation or shelter in place orders at this time.

SF_DPH will be conducting an emergency exercise drill on the SF State campus today from 8AM to 4pm. SAN FRANCISCO FIRE DEPARTMENT MEDIA vehicles will be on campus and 100+ volunteers will be participating. This is only an exercise. The exercise is not open to the media. San Francisco Department of Emergency Management

AirTrain is currently out of service. Shuttle Buses are running between All Terminals, Rental Car Center, Grand Hyatt at SFO, and Long Term Parking. Follow signs to buses. Allow extra time this morning.

After a recent helicopter rescue from the beach below, #yourSFFD units B7, E51, E14 and T14 discuss the backup rope rescue system put in place if the helicopter was unsuccessful.
