A privilege to meet the inspiring carrie dalton of Sheffield Hallam University. We discussed how she is replicating & adapting the microclot detection methods devised by Resia Pretorius & Prof Doug Kell CBE #FBPE #FBPA #ABTV 🔶🇪🇺 so that analysis can be done quickly- which is what patients need! 1/n
Docs I've seen have explained away my positive lupus anticoagulant (LA) test results by saying LA is often positive following an infection. But is it the case that LA would return positive for 5 consecutive tests over a period of 2.5yrs following Covid? Is that normal? #LongCovid
If you're in the group 'didn't come for a blood test as too unwell or forgot' please can you give us another chance as we really need more #LongCovid volunteers who can get to us in London and want to help us understand this disease
Calling out to all interested in #LongCovid WILCO research: the LC landscape keeps changing and so do our research questions. We so urgently need more volunteers (and 'full recovery controls') who could get to us in W London for a blood test (and hoping to open more sites soon)
It's #DysautonomiaAwarenessMonth ! Watch this lecture from Mayo Clinic Autonomic Neurologist, Dr. Brent Goodman, in which he discusses several underlying diseases that can cause autonomic neuropathies such as diabetes, Sjogren’s and Parkinsons: vimeo.com/587967503.
Shaney Wright I feel completely abandoned by the NHS. All you get is sympathetic shrugs and wise words about time being a great healer.
It’s now been over a year since #MicroClots were discovered in #LongCovid
So far every patient tested has them, control do not.
NIH denied Putrino Lab grant to further study — & no US researchers have attempted.
There is no urgency. Science isn’t moving “as fast as it can”.
This is what #LongCovid looks like if you do the right tests (instead of guessing):
A normal patient will have about 5% reduction in cerebral blood flow when tilted from supine to upright. Now read the green numbers in these LC pts: 😥
