Tropical Storm Debby has brought heavy rain, strong winds and catastrophic flooding to states along the East Coast after making landfall as a Category 1 Hurricane in Florida. A tornado from the storm tore through businesses and turned over cars just north of Charleston.

Tropical Storm Debby is blamed for at least six deaths in the Southeast, as the storm continues to churn off the coasts of Georgia and the Carolinas. The storm is still dumping heavy rain over the region — and it is expected to get stronger again before moving inland.

After making a second landfall overnight, Tropical Depression Debby slammed parts of North and South Carolina with dangerous flooding and at least six tornadoes that destroyed homes and businesses.

Hundreds of hunters gathered in Florida to catch and kill as many Burmese pythons as possible. The snakes are an invasive species that have wreaked havoc on the Everglades ecosystem. While it can feel like a losing battle, Cristian Benavides found out why biologists aren't giving up.

Several authors and publishing companies, including Penguin Random House, are suing the state of Florida over its "unconstitutional" ban on hundreds of books. The lawsuit argues the law "violates the First Amendment" and created a "regime of strict censorship" in schools.

The U.S. seized a plane used by Venezuela’s leader, Nicolás Maduro, on Monday. The seizure of the aircraft, which U.S. officials say is essentially Venezuela’s Air Force One, comes as the South American country is still reeling from disputed elections earlier this year.

Schools are closed and residents are on alert near a heavily-wooded area south of Lexington, Kentucky, as police search for a gunman accused of randomly shooting at cars and injuring five people. The suspect, Joseph Couch, is considered armed and dangerous.

Schools in central Kentucky have cancelled classes Monday and residents tell Cristian Benavides they "are on edge" as the deep-woods search for a man who is believed to have shot and wounded five people near Interstate 75 enters its third day.
