It's puzzling that people blame "the NHS" for the state it's in. It's not a religion, simply a mechanism for paying for universal care (tax funded, free at the point of need, largely publicly provided). The main reasons it can't cope with demand, in no particular order are... 1.

Bittersweet news as Alzheimer's drug #lecanemab has been licensed for use in Britain but won't be available on the #NHS. It's a remarkable achievement that we now have a drug that can slow Alzheimer's, but it's clear the NHS is not ready to deliver it.

Bittersweet to have MHRA approval but not NICE support for NHS delivery of disease midifying #lecanemab in the UK. Let us hope that future reconsideration of cost can enable the benefits to be gained by those eligible, and in the @NHS
