#NoMowMay: With an estimated 23 million gardens in the UK, the potential for better managed grassland habitat – even if it’s just a small patch of lawn – is immense!🌼 🌱 🐝 Read our full press release here 👉 bit.ly/3MVAv1I

Out of 115 species of bees in Scotland, at least 4 of which are now thought to be extinct (info from BuglifeScotland). You can show your support for your local bee population by letting your lawn grow with #NoMowMay and growing flora that support them. #WorldBeeDay

Great to do some grassland surveying yesterday at East Kilbride with South Lanarkshire Council Councillor Kirsten Robb & Jackie from Incredibly Wild East Kilbride. We saw the results that simple changes to mowing regimes from the council are already bringing to 8 sites in the St Leonards area🦋🌱🐝

Volunteers, ClydeGrasslands and the council are working to improve grassland habitats for pollinator species in EK, including in this ward (see map). In response to the loss of 97% of the UK's species rich grasslands since 1940’s + importance of pollinators for human survival.
