CAPTAINS: The most important person you should lead is YOU. You have to lead yourself positively before you can ever expect to lead anyone else. Don't expect others to follow your lead if you're not doing what you're supposed to do. Be an example to your teammates.

You don't get immediate results. There is no drive thru window to getting better. There is no shortcut or lifehack. You show up. You commit to the process. You do the work. You get better. Repeat daily. 🪵🪓

Being a winner doesn’t always require victory. But, it does always require accountability, mindset, resilience, and grit. Your effort, attitude, and enthusiasm will dictate if you’re a winner more than the scoreboard ever can. 📸Allistair McCaw

If you’re not making 250 shots every day, dribbling for 15 minutes on your own, running 4-8 hill sprints, and jogging at least 1.25 miles four days a week, you’re not serious.

Stop running away from: • tough coaches • difficult teachers who challenge you • a trainer that pushes you • parents who don’t let you quit RUN TOWARDS THEM. The easy route is usually the one in which you don’t grow.

You can score 6,8,10 points in a AAU game on a good team and coaches know you can play. You don’t have to show them. Show you can be an impact with other good players. Essentially that’s what playing college ball is. Everyone was “the man” where they came from. Fit with them.

Stan Van Gundy said something crucial for players at all levels. Every team has 2-3 players whose job is to score. Playing Time & Value = How you can impact winning & excel in your Role. HS Recruits: Coaches evaluate how you can help them win, not if you can score 30 on 20+ shots

High school players, if you aren’t attacking the weight room, getting your conditioning in, and your skills at game speed. What are you doing!? The off-season/summer is where you make leaps. Forget the politics side of it. Go be a dawg. The blueprint is not crazy.

July live period has arrived! As a coach who spent 7 summers running a club program and now entering year 8 as a head college coach here is my advice for players as you get ready to play! UNK Women's Hoops 🧵July Live Period

Jrue Holiday 23 minutes, Derrick White 15 minutes, more than NBA MVP candidates and guys making double their salaries. Find a role and shine in it. Defense valued on the highest stages

Thank you to “Wally” Seaver HS Invitational for another great tournament for an amazing cause! The premier HS off season tourney didn’t disappoint. Always a great pool of competitive teams that we don’t see during the regular season providing a great test for our guys. Thanks Coach,

Dan Campbell said, "It's all about the work." "We don't live off reputation, we live off of work." You have to show up and do the work. • It means effort. • It means commitment. • It means earning it, not being entitled. (Crunch Time Sports)

How should a coach determine who are the team’s feature players and who are the role players? Who starts and who comes off the bench? Who plays and who doesn’t? We feel that our players should decide their role. We put a major emphasis on practice stats and measurables. Here
