just used chatgpt to help me understand and fill out paperwork for a new SEP IRA. the future is now man i'm definitely a L7/7 at this point and it's drastically impacting the way I live my day-to-day

just published my first wave of 3279 location hub pages on Pastmaps 🗺️ you can scope out a preview here of how v1 turned out: pastmaps.com/explore distribution is always wickedly hard for startups, if this growth strat works then it's a huge de-risk 🤞

my latest favorite prompting trick for chatgpt: "Respond as a top 1% software engineer would." huge step-up in brevity and completeness of code responses just by giving it a helping hand on how to sample internally 🤯

I ended up getting a few DMs asking for more info on how I'm using chatgpt to speed up my development. Is there general interest in me sharing more of my raw workflows? just testing the waters here

Seems like I pissed off the Bing gods as they've entirely removed pastmaps.com links from their SERPs. Started last week as I cranked up the indexing for my explore pages, now getting the dreaded "some links have been removed" message. Always something 😕

Early data from publishing location hub pages 3 weeks ago: +40% organic clicks, +60% impressions Only ~200/35K indexed so far so this is... promising These leads convert 10x better than my social channels too #buildinpublic

What do folks use for their observability/logging stack for Cloudflare? Datadog seems like the obvious choice but curious if folks have opinions here before I go through the song and dance of configurating it

Ultimately went with datadog because of the existing cloudflare integration. all-in-all, pretty happy although the documentation was severely lacking already finding a few small hiccups to tackle as part of my backlog!

And fixed! apparently just ignoring this and continuing to truck onwards with adding rich schema, improving meta tag descriptors, and adding more content was enough to get me off the Bing naughty list. already seeing healthy traffic back to previous levels!

Been posting lately on that *other site*, so figured I'd catch folks up on Pastmaps progress: tl;dr experienced monstrous +1200% search growth in the past month and now averaging 70 clicks/day at 8% CTR at avg position of 22 anyone want more posted updates here? #buildinpublic

Just launched the paid map print service across my entire inventory of 186,000+ historic maps. Ended up building a custom shop and checkout flow due to some unique constraints I have that Shopify struggled with 😭 Give it a try here: pastmaps.com/map/san-franci…
