A landlord who tried to evict his 92-year-old tenant says he is “another decent landlord f**ked over by the RTB” He also labelled his tenant a “diddery aul wan” and says if she died “today or next month or in two years’ time” he’ll sell the apartment and “make a profit”.

Norma putting out a press release about phones in schools is deflecting from the fact, there’s children with no special school places. A lack of SNA support in schools. There’s a teacher recruitment crisis . But let’s talk about something schools are already doing

This is one of the reasons why the housing system is broken in Ireland. Dublin City Council is missing out on millions of euros in untapped revenue by not applying a 7% annual levy on the market value of vacant sites. As of June 2024, Dublin City Council's Vacant Site

The Ditch can reveal that a third Israel-bound cargo flight flew over Irish sovereign airspace this year – carrying more than 24 tonnes of weapons for the IDF. Sniper ammunition and exploding bridge wire detonators were among the munitions on board. ontheditch.com/third-flight-t…

Bizarre and mildly threatening call from a fellow councillor in Ballymun-Finglas (on a private number) this AM, accusing me of speaking about his family I despise what he stands for and think he's an idiot but I couldn't care less about his personal life or his family

👋 38 yr old here, who would love to get a place of my own. In my 20s we had the recession due to FF , and subsequently had FG in Gov. Done everything right, worked, went to college, got a "good job" etc. Eventually had to move back to the family home. This is personal to me.

In 2023; of the 32,695 homes built, only 27% were sold on the market. In Dublin City, 94% of all new housing was apartments (98% for rent or social, just 2% for sale). Since 2017, new housing coming to the market for sale is down 48%. So much for the party of homeownership 🫠

🇩🇰 Since 1996, Copenhagen has built FOUR incredible metro lines, helping to transform the city. 🇮🇪 Since 1996, Dublin has built zero metro lines. 🤯 The mismanagement and poor political leadership in Ireland knows no bounds.

I got this email from a teacher turned down for 'affordable' rental housing because her income wasn't high enough! We wonder why we are losing teachers, nurses, carers, guards, psychologists.. Affordable housing must be available & genuinely affordable for key workers

Trying to get a clear answer as to why Ireland has no rent register, which could be used to aid tenants in seeing whether or not they're being asked to pay too much
