According to UN Women Fewer than 40% of the women who experience violence seek help of any sort. Whereas most look to family and friends, very few look to formal institutions, such as police & health services. Fewer than 10% of those seeking help appeal to the police.

With the new funding commitments made at the #GenerationEquality forum, it is very important to ensure funding is allocated to the prevention of violence. Willson Chivhanga calls for Governments & partners to ensure #EVAWG advocacy is financed. #VoicesandFaces #OrangeTheWorld

Perpetrators of abuse are more likely to target the most vulnerable to whom they have access. People with disabilities are more likely to experience abuse for long because they have difficulties when accessing the support that they need. #16DaysofActivism2021 #16Days #IDPWD2021

Son of the African Soil, may you rest in power. You fought a great fight for human rights in Southern Africa and beyond. We will always remember how you stood firm and never relented in the human rights field. Rest in power!
