NEW POLL — 76% of Americans agree: banning price gouging, lowering drug prices, capping insulin costs, and paid family leave would help families. Over 80% back Medicare negotiating drug prices and a $35 cap on insulin. These policies aren't just popular—they're necessary.

Find me the person who doesn’t need time off at some point in their life to care for a loved one, navigate their own illness, or start a family. Virtually everyone would benefit from a national #paidleave program.

Here's the silver lining of the Russian propaganda story. We are being manipulated to hate our neighbors, think the worst of each other, and believe there is no hope. But we are not as divided as Russia wants you to think. the.ink/p/from-russia-…

With the help of our #CareCantWait partners, we got nearly 25k signatures from caregivers, care recipients, and care activists across the country calling for lower costs for care and answers from our elected leaders. It’s time for investments and improvements in our care economy!

When I had a baby, I was on child care waitlists for months. The first opening was nowhere near my home and more than $30K a year. I had to use every paid sick day for my leave and it wasn’t enough.

And to be clear, childcare costs more than college in 28 states. More than half of the population live in childcare deserts. Only 1 in 4 private sector workers has paid family leave through their jobs. What did not having enough paid leave or childcare cost you?

Again, he has no idea what he's talking about. I have a niece whose childcare in N. Virginia cost close to 1.6K a month 10 (!) years ago. A quick Google search claims that same care now avgs. about 2.7K a month. He can't even answer a simple question that affects millions...

I’m currently in a room full of rural child care providers and advocates and for the 1st time in my life, I very much wish Donald Trump was in the room with me so he could hear directly how much the high cost of child care harms communities across the country

At long last, we have a PA voter file update that includes the week of July 21st, after VP Harris ascended to the top of the ticket....

Today I asked Donald J. Trump what he would do to solve the child care crisis. His response? Incomprehensible at best; at worst, outrageously offensive to the millions of families drowning in costs.

Paid family and medical leave impacts all of us. Even if you’re not a primary caregiver, chances are one day you’ll have more than one family member who needs help and it will be all hands on deck. Chances are one day, you’ll want your kids to be with you and to keep working too.

Dawn Huckelbridge (@dhuckelbridge) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This is nonsense for a lot of reasons but chances are grandma and grandpa will need care soon too, if not already. 11 million of us need to care for kids and parents at the same time. There will be more. This isn’t an answer. Paid leave, childcare, aging and disability care are.
