Lucy AFFIRM Trial did major harm to our patients by creating a simple false talking point that stuck. Rate control is NOT equivalent to rhythm control. Even the AFFIRM authors concluded this - see their 2004 manuscript showing sinus rhythm associated with lower mortality.

Even less sensical is recent data that AF and VT ablation may improve survival, yet SVT has higher value. Technical training, intensity, and risk/liability incurred are not factored and must be. #CMSCutsEP

Complex extraction case with Robert Schaller. Recurrent bacteremia with jailed RV dual coil lead & SVC stents. Generator removed previously. Snared end of coil with bioptome and goose neck, then unraveled the ICD coil enabling extraction around SVC stents. #EPeeps Penn Cardiology

Rarely need Impella for VT. Turned out to be great in this case. Was able to find critical isthmus for clinical VT in patient with VT storm. Single burn termination for that one. No longer inducible for VT. Thanks ⁦Ally Carey⁩ & ⁦@BiosenseWebster⁩. #AblateVT #EPeeps
