Check our our newest paper available Molecular Cell! Combining in vivo and in vitro analysis, we find that Smc5/6 preferentially loads and extrudes loops of transcription-induced positive supercoils, thus promotes local cis-interactions. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

(1/8) I am thrilled to share the latest work from Biswajit Pradhan Amar Deep from Kevin Corbett Eugene Kim lab! biorxiv.org/content/10.110… We show that the bacterial SMC Wadjet complex cleaves plasmid DNA through loop extrusion.
