Why do we have a tree monitoring program? Every year, trees and shrubs cause power outages and potential safety hazards when they grow too close, or fall onto our electricity and gas system equipment like power lines, padmounted transformers and gas lines. bit.ly/3Mw9MYj

Have you seen crews trimming trees in your neighbourhood? When a tree’s branches grow too close to a power line, it becomes a safety and reliability issue. We trim them and ensure these trees don’t need to be trimmed again for at least 5 years. bit.ly/3Mw9MYj

The best way to protect your trees? Plan ahead. Consider the root and branch span and height of a tree when it’s fully grown before you plant it. It’s one way we can keep power lines clear of vegetation to avoid outages and safety hazards. bit.ly/3Mw9MYj
