Earlier today, our 58-old male Asian elephant, Thailand, met the newest member of our elephant herd, 15-year-old Chuck. Introductions went great between them. You can start to see Chuck on exhibit with Thailand. He’ll eventually meet our other males, Tucker and Nelson, soon.

Methai is 55! Our matriarch’s animal care team prepared a watermelon cake topped with fruit, including strawberries and pineapple, to get into the summertime mood. Make it a Zoo day and stop by to see our Asian elephant matriarch this weekend.

This week, we celebrated #AmphibianWeek with our smoky jungle frogs from South America’s Pantanal. They are nocturnal and have a brownish color to resemble dead leaves to act as camouflage from predators. Learn more on this week’s livestream: bit.ly/2wHMYBw
