An encouraging report from one of the toughest tumor types. EGFR vIII-directed CAR-T secreting anti-wtEGFR BiTE demonstrating strong on-target activity. Curious if a similar approach targeting EGFR e19/L858R could be helpful for pts w/ EGFR-mutant LUAD with CNS-only progression.

Why ALK fuses w/ EML4 in lung cancers and not often w/ KIF5B? We never see TMPRSS2-ALK and what's the biology behind? An exciting paper from Chiarle lab led by translocation expert Taek-Chin Cheong. A major step forward to understand the mechanisms of SVs! nature.com/articles/s4146…

Peter Campbell leaves the Sanger Institute at the end of the year to become Quotient's CSO. A mentor and one of my favourite scientists. His foundational, profound and creative contributions to cancer genomics and somatic evolution have truly shaped those fields. [1/7]

We spent two days in the mountains discussing how cancer genomes become such a chaotic and rearranged mess. Thanks to the participants, my fellow co-organizers Isidro Cortes-Ciriano and Titia de Lange, and Forbeck Foundation for bringing us together in Aspen, Colorado!

Wonderful opportunity to interact with the thought leaders of EGFR+ lung cancer. The inaugural meeting in 2019 motivated me to come back to clinic.

Unexpected role of Fanconi anemia pathway in chromothripsis. It’s just incredible learning experience to follow the experimental papers since the initial description of chromothripsis in 2011. Amazing biology.

Fusion variant-specific tumor suppressors in ALK+ lung cancers. SETD2 inactivation conferred a larger impact on tumorigenesis in the context of EML4-ALK v3 (fusing exon 6 of EML4 and exon 20 of ALK) than v1 (e13-e20).
