We had the privilege of filming Sir Andrew Davis conduct Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra during the 2022 Edinburgh International Festival. This was the final image from that film.

So very sad to hear Sir Andrew Davis has died. He was a very special conductor and a joy to work with - an opinion I know I share with all my BBC Singers colleagues. My generation grew up with him conducting the Last night of BBC Proms. Here’s the year he sang the speech. Hero.
