Today Hefei Metro Line 8 Phase 1 started testing. This phase is fully underground 22km long with 12 stations and uses fully automated 6 car Type B trains. Costs 170 million INT$/km to build.

In China one thing I noticed that seems to be picking up (such as the example below in Xiamen) is building a LED backlight layout that matches the design printed on translucent vinyl. Even tho the image is static you still have dynamism with the different LED modules lighting up.

When I was travelling around Henan, I noticed Zhengzhou Railway Bureau seems to prefer rope barriers on all its railway stations in contrast to other Railway Bureaux in China which opt for full PSD/PSG but only at underground stations.

Taiyuan Rail Transit Line 1 a 28.7 km 24 station east west line has begun testing yesterday. The line is fully underground uses 6 car Type A trains running fully automated GoA4. Costs 190 million INT$/km to construct.
