Yesterday we had the pleasure to host a remarkable talk by Dr Christine Kenyon-Jones on Lord Byron's portraits and sculptures, mostly those made in Italy during his lifetime. Dr Kenyon-Jones also talked about our two new acquisitions, two portrait busts of Byron.

#OTD in 1822 P.B. Shelley died off the coast of Tuscany. We'd like to remember Shelley through Lord Byron's own words in a letter to John Murray on 3 August 1822: "You are all brutally mistaken about Shelley who was without exception – the best and least selfish man I ever knew."
