It’s bad enough that states seal adoption records and original birth certificates. It’s even worse when APs withhold records from adoptees. If you’re a fellow AP and haven’t passed all adoption paperwork to the adopted person yet—do it. Right now. It belongs to them, not us.

I'm against the business of selling babies. Adoption is a billion dollar industry that preys on vulnerable people and depends on their desperation to harvest supply. I think that's wrong. We should be supporting families, because most women who relinquish actually want to parent.

Maternity homes have a fraught history of trauma, secrecy and shame. Many unwed pregnant women and girls were sent to these homes, where they were often coerced into surrendering their babies for adoption. #adoption #forcedadoption #adoptioncorruption qcnews.com/news/national-…

Almost every mother I've talked to who spent time in a maternity home describes the experience as being in jail.

Everyone wants to think that relinquishment is voluntary so everyone can feel good about what in reality is forced and coerced adoption.

More headline correction work. Checkered is not the right word. Abusive and oppressive and deeply involved in practices of forced and coerced adoption would be more accurate.
