Sidney Hayersâ 1975 âDeadly Strangersâ (with Hayley Mills and Simon Ward) isnât mentioned here â and Iâve only seen it the once, circa 1980, so my critical evaluation may be way off â but given I can still recall whole sequences 45 years later, suggests it too is worth a revisit.
Cornel Wildeâs âBeach Redâ is visceral, violent, thoughtful â precursor to âApocalypse Nowâ (exploding palm trees), âSaving Private Ryanâ (severed limbs) & Eastwoodâs âLetters from Iwo Jimaâ (Japanese POV). Good use of murals & Mrs Wildeâs folksy singing. Film will be cut though!
