Lacey units just now clearing scene of a commercial structure fire at Carpenter and Martin Way NE. Heavy fire & defensive conditions. Huge thank you to Olympia Fire Dept. & East Olympia Fire for assisting at the fire & also responding to additional calls in our area.

This morning E33 was dispatched to a fence fire. Fire likely started overnight in the bark & spread to the fence. Fortunately, occupants smelled smoke & called 911 before it could spread to the home. Great reminder: even though it rained yesterday, everything is still very dry.

This morning LFD3 units were dispatched to a residential structure fire with reports of smoke coming from the house. E34 arrived at the hydrant & found it partially blocked by a parked car. Please give those hydrants plenty of space… you never know when they might be needed!

Tonight we celebrated the promotions of Assistant Chief Michael Hughes & Lieutenant Kevin Perry. Chief Hughes is our new Medical Services Officer, & Lieutenant Perry is assigned to Station 35 on B-shift. Please help us congratulate these two dedicated professionals!

LFD3 units responded to a fire in a mobile home this afternoon off of Martin Way. The fire was quickly knocked down and all occupants were out of the home on arrival.

You can’t spell COMMUNITY without LFD! Today your LFD3 firefighters spent some time cooling down some very hot kids from Timberline High School’s Cross Country team. AND our crews had the honor to attend the Nisqually community health fair.

Today, we’re celebrating #LaborDay… & we’re specifically celebrating our mechanics! This morning, E31 suffered a serious coolant leak & was out of service. An hour later, E31 was repaired & back in service thanks to one of our amazing mechanics (that came in on a holiday)!
