What BBC propagandists describe as road "upgrades" to help cyclists and pedestrians are actually designed to force people out of their cars by reducing road space, creating artificial delays, and making driving stressful and unpleasant. bbc.com/news/articles/…

If you're wondering why Water Street looks like this again despite the glorious forecast 🌞 for the next few weeks, it's because council refused to even *consider* extending the pilot into September. This was a choice!

112 km/h in a school zone. Horrific. What's worse? The VPD caught 22 more drivers going at least 70 km/h in a school zone. 70 km/h is certain death for any unluckily pedestrian. Putting a school on a freeway does not change the fact that it is a freeway.

Another potentially lethal heat wave hits Oregon - a record triple digit recording in friggin' September - and @oregondot and the Oregon Legislature is still insisting on spending billions of dollars widening freeways when 40% of Oregon's carbon emissions come from transportation

rode the new stouffville 9 route and was pleased to see many people getting on and off within stouffville. Lots of new trip opportunities opened up and faster rides for YRT customers. Love to see my work make an impact!

Portland’s post-pandemic travel patterns (less focused on downtown) have weakened the case for new light rail lines, so for now TriMet is busy expanding bus service, and increasing rail frequency. (We’ll still need the downtown rail tunnel for a fast E-W link across the region.)

TTC to name an Interim CEO. Will this be a caretaker, or someone who will prepare the way for system revitalization? My thoughts: stevemunro.ca/2024/09/05/ttc…

DouglasTodd Question: Do those density numbers remove water and mountains? All four densest cities have large amounts of water within 30km... Vancouver, and to a lesser extent, San Francisco have steep mountainsides. Here are 3 of the 4

Bravo to the BC Greens for bringing free to ride and fully funded public transportation to the table this provincial election. Committing to funding environmentally friendly transportation over polluting cars is necessary in a climate crisis.

Norcross is getting a new and much-needed transit option ajc.com/opinion/opinio… Metro Vancouver does not have On-Demand Transit. Every major city in Canada/US has it. Shame!

So far, 30 people have died on Toronto's roads in 2024 cbc.ca/news/canada/to… Metro Vancouver population is the same as City of Toronto 3 M. However we got over 30 deaths just in one month in August 2024. We need proper mandated Vision Zero principles implemented. All over BC
