The Ministry of Justice has warned the proposed Treaty Principles Bill isn't "grounded in the Treaty" and relies on a "novel reading" of the founding document that isn't supported by the "available evidence". rnz.co.nz/news/political…

This treaty bill process is ridiculous, people have to treat it seriously & submit because otherwise govt and/or David Seymour will say “look everyone agrees”. So while PM says it’s pointless & not going anywhere they’re giving Seymour 6 months of divisive nonsense for no reason

A principal and I were talking today. He's fully in despair of what this coalition government is doing, and especially in education. He's still waiting fir the MOE to inform him of his provisional staffing entitlement for next year. He cynically said they will probably email...1/

He told me he believes the coalition government is forcing through fast changes to set us up yo fail and then they can justify pushing schools down the charter schools model pathway - we've seen it before: create the crisis to justify privatisation. 3/3

The political figure found guilty of sex crimes against minors continues to seek name suppression despite his victims being opposed to it These survivors are having their freedom to speak out restricted by a sex offender! Can the Free Speech Union or David Seymour get involved?

“And officials have warned that the bill could “generate further division posing a threat to social cohesion. The Tribunal concluded that Māori will suffer the impacts of division and social disorder, bearing the brunt of blame for it” This is on Luxon. stuff.co.nz/politics/35041…

Yes, when will David Seymour stand by his word & actually put the victims first? Especially in this case where the offender has already been tried & CONVICTED 🤔 #nzpol

So far, this govt has cancelled or suspended: - the interisland ferries - hundreds of state housing projects - hundreds of school projects - light rail - walking and cycling projects - road safety investments - hospital upgrades

If Christopher Luxon and Nicola Willis are so good at the economy, how come employment numbers keep shooting up and up, much higher than their forecasts? Hard to say. Maybe they're just shit at it? #NationalNotFitToGovern

A family member works in a govt department in Wellington. He tells me they’ve spent so much money on redundancy payments that the budget is completely blown out. Millions of dollars paid to get people to NOT work. Just incredibly wasteful.

No-one should be granted name suppression after being found guilty of sex crimes against minors just because of their connection to a particular political party. Victims should be able to speak freely; instead they can't because a sex offender is being protected by his party.

This is the poll David Seymour and supporters cite claiming 60% of NZ supports his Treaty Bill. It used leading questions that simplify complex principles and language appealing to general concepts of fairness and equality, steering responses towards a preferred outcome.

Seymour's claims that the majority of New Zealanders support his Treaty Principles Bill is based on poll data from the now discredited Curia Research. Curia was forced to shut down recently when the Professional Standards Group threatened to expel them for bias in their polls.

always weird to be reminded the PM's electorate office was a suburban home. he bought it before becoming an MP & converted into an office There's a neighbourhood shopping centre right over the road where he could have leased a space. He charges us rent on the former home, too
