So pleased to see our investigation into high risk people missing out on vaccines on the front page of tomorrow’s The Guardian. Thank you to the 500+ readers who took the time to respond to my call out which allowed us to do it. #TomorrowsPapersToday
Tonight we at Newcastle Uni Disability & Neurodiversity Society are facilitating a discussion group on 'what it means to be a disabled student'. Are you a disabled student? What does being disabled in Higher Education mean to you? #Disabled #Forum #NUSU #Disability #DisabledInHE #University
If you're a student based at Newcastle University, and you're interested, why not come along tonight? All are welcome, whether you identify as disabled, neurodiverse, both or neither! Feel free to drop me a message for details🙂
Not Newcastle University telling me that only women experience periods and that the ease of cleaning a disabled toilet is prioritised over stopping disabled students from *dying*. 😬 Newcastle, your transphobia and ableism is showing… Dorothy Chirwa✊🏾 Newcastle Uni Disability & Neurodiversity Society
We are extremely concerned to hear this response from Newcastle University. Emergency cords are designed for accessible toilet users to alert people that they need assistance. For this reason they should be reachable from the floor. This urgently needs to be addressed Dorothy Chirwa✊🏾
