I am sorry but I will keep reminding the world that I was the first to tweet that Israel used mass Hannibal Directives killing some of its own captured soldiers. This was 710 at noon. Hem! Hem!

Aaron Bushnell would have turned 26 years old today. May his memory be a blessing. May the pain of his loss push us to do what's in our power to end this horrific war. May we spend the lives we're given standing up for others to live in dignity, safety, and equality, always.

Very proud of all the queers who shut down Toronto’s corporate pride parade today in solidarity with Palestine. The ED refused to meet with them to discuss ending Pride’s complicity in the genocide in Gaza, opting to cancel the rest of the parade instead. #NoPrideInGenocide

We are departing from the People's Circle for Palestine earlier than the 6pm deadline set by the court. Long live the Student Intifada. Long live Palestine.

A massive show of force. Hundreds of students and their allies walking out of University of Toronto in support of students UofT Occupy for Palestine Students say they are not waiting for police to arrive 👮‍♀️ “We won’t allow the police to brutalize us.”

This moment. I have no words. "Our encampment may be leaving this physical space, but our fight will continue in the hearts and minds of everyone who believes in human dignity and justice." -Mohammad Yassin, Palestinian student speaking at UofT Occupy for Palestine final press conference.

.University of Toronto students marching. What UofT Occupy for Palestine did for 63 days is historic. It took the University of Toronto 9 years to divest from apartheid South Africa. They were dragged kicking & screaming towards divestment. 👉Those students in the 1980’s were also labelled violent & racist.

One thing I'm left with at the end of UofT Occupy for Palestine: the failure of media to engage with what actually happened there, and the likely inability now to accurately summarize or thoughtfully reflect on what happened, because there was so little curiosity to begin with

I have withdrawn my novel BIRD SUIT from consideration for the 2024 Scotiabank Giller Prize, alongside other authors. We will not let our work be used to aid sponsors actively investing in arms funding and Israel’s genocide of Palestinians. Full letter: canlitresponds.ca/letter-giller

Scotiabank fears protesters, yet appears willing to let the Giller Prize lose its credibility while the bank continues to make obscene amounts of money from weapons manufacturers. Time to walk away from Scotiabank if they can't walk away from Elbit.

The BBC really don’t cope well when their audience manipulation has been highlighted. Mariam Barghouti pointing out some home truths. This is how media works.

This correspondent wanted me to talk about Gaza’s humanitarian crisis like it was a natural disaster & not the outcome of a genocidal campaign. I did not expect on Day 325 for the BBC to rinse, repeat Israeli TP, going so far as to lament that they had no Israeli to respond 2 me
