We need to stop saying “hard to reach” patients Many patients are disadvantaged by OUR approach, design & biases in healthcare This is why it’s so important to have a diverse workforce and co-design with patients Maybe the problem is us in healthcare- not them

We have lots of meetings and we keep talking, yet communication is the biggest problem in healthcare- both for patients & with other staff groups Maybe we are speaking with the wrong people? Asking the wrong questions? Affirming our own beliefs? Making assumptions?

Access to healthcare needs is not just “putting on extra clinics” As the waiting times increase, it’s becoming even harder to access healthcare - lack of flexibility, lack of staff, rushed communication, shortened appointments, no time for holistic care or understanding people

If you work on a mental health ward, please put out ice cold drinks, ice creams/lollies, fruit and ice. A lot of UK wards can get extremely hot, people are on medication which can make them susceptible to the heat and most have no choice to leave.
