It's important to remember patients are watching this discourse, and explaining context is key. Often the most apt person to review someone in hospital/primary care is an ANP/ACP, and sometime a CNS. A strong medical team requires a a strong nursing and allied health team.

In no other industry would staff accept no break in 8 hours. A typical full office shift Why do ambulance staff accept it ? 07:30 start and stuck outside hospital, with no end in sight. Surely patient safety is compromised! And it's not even winter

I’ve elderly parents & most of my patients are elderly. However, I find it tough to sympathize with a demographic that’s been fortunate to see kids & grandkids grow up; voted for Brexit; got free education; triple lock pensions; and kept the Tories in power #WinterFuelPayment

🙏 John Martin for the invitation to South Western Ambulance Service, 🚑 It was a privilege to spend time with the exec team, EOC & HART teams. Massively impressed by the commitment to transforming services to ensure timely emergency care & fostering a culture of excellence & professional practice

What the article (accurately) says: "The average migrant worker pays more in tax than they received in public services compared to the average British-born worker". What the headline says: telegraph.co.uk/business/2024/…

Right. These tweets are coming from the 'messy middle' of pretty unprocessed feelings. There has been lots in the news about parent carers of kids with #SEND having to leave their jobs or cut hours. What's also true is that we're less likely to be promoted at work. 🧵

Unfortunate but unsurprising decision by the British government not to fund Casement. Energises arguments for an alternative constitutional framework that can deliver the investments and policy changes that are badly needed in the North.

Now I know we can’t see a United Ireland as the solution to all our ills. But tonight, as Dublin plans what on earth to do with its EXTRA €14bill, you can’t help wishing for the choice to give it a chance instead of being caught up in London’s gloom and glum

Matt O'Reilly (@mattyfro1) 's Twitter Profile Photo

There are people who walk our streets genuinely delighted that Casement wont be built in time for the Euros. Delighted that our economy will miss out on tens of millions. Delighted that thousands of kids will miss out on a generational experience. It is genuinely depressing.

This analysis misses one critical factor: it is too big of an investment in west Belfast for many within political unionism to accept.

Very interesting - and stark - detail in this FactCheckNI piece on deprivation. Very clear, whether you’re in Derry, West Belfast, Portadown or any point in between, we are being let down and failed across almost every domain of consideration. More here: factcheckni.org/articles/is-de…
