A year ago today (after much hard work) our book was published. We've heard many accounts of people sharing it with their physios and positive feedback from lots of different professions. You can find out all the info on the book at our blog post physiosforme.com/post/our-book-…

In PEM after 15-20 min laptop time working on PIP form two days ago. Presumably, that laptop time pushed me over the anaerobic threshold & caused damage. Muscles hurt all over, hands weak and painful, hard to chew and swallow. Decided to check my lactate #TheAcidTest

For context, a blood lactate of 4.5 is something I'd expect to see after running a solid 5k, at speed. Having this triggered by just doing paperwork is about the best example I can think of that something has gone terribly wrong in the basic biological machinery of life.

Thank you to everyone who has contacted us so far. We've had a massive response - 3 times the number we were looking for already!! As such we will have to close recruitment this evening (4th Sep). We don't want to disappoint too many.

One question during screening for our study is "what precautions should we take before entering your home?" We'll be masking anyway, but some have asked for more robust PPE, or to avoid particular scents etc. Working safely with pwME means adapting and respecting the individual

But we've been met with surprise sometimes at the question. This isn't hard as a researcher or clinician. It should be commonplace.
