Today Charles Smith @profsmithsask.bsky.social & I submitted the final manuscript (& many other docs) for our western Canadian politics collection to UBC Press. I'm pretty sure we've missed something 😁😁 but that's a worry for another day. Now we can enjoy the long weekend before teaching begins again.

I grew up w the weirdness of 70s & 80s BC politics (Wacky Bennett, Phlying Phil Ghilardi, Barrett's red underwear, Operation Solidarity, Vanderlism, Gracie's Finger, Deck-gate). Lately BC looked positively placid next to AB's embrace of the kooky. So, thanks Kevin Falcon.🙃😆🙃

Played my first round of the year today at Tor Hill Pro Shop. Turns out golf is still hard.

While I fully support better funding for K-12 I wish politicians would recognize that "education" doesn't stop there. The colleges, the polytech & the universities in SK are in desperate need of support & investment. A strong PSE sector is an engine for economic growth.

The end of the Lib-NDP supply & confidence agmt might signal a nail-biter of a coming Parliamentary session as we wait to see if & when the govt falls. But as Paul Wells taught us, "For any given situation, Canadian politics will tend toward the least exciting possible outcome."

New pet peeve -- People seem to have forgotten how elevators work. Press button, stand to the side, let people exit elevator then enter. Easy peasy. Just watched person trying to get off the elevator get herded to the back of the car by people rushing to get in.
