Game studios stay relevant only as long as they make money. No money, no talent around to keep building No money, no growth Web3 and value shareโ€ฆ Play-to-earn and its new evolutionsโ€ฆ All of this requires sustained consumer spend. You donโ€™t get far with finite tactics,

How much revenue does a game need to generate? Offset the costs and then you're in the green, right? We are used to seeing lump sums. X million to make a game and another Y to market it. That's an incomplete picture for most games. Also off for web3 games, the serious kind.

This is where economy design bleeds into game design. Crypto or no crypto, it's still a videogame. A game w/ collectables needs to make them pop. Give people reasons to collect and they will.

Hearthstone Battlegrounds is the best autochess game. Easy to get into, easy to pick up again after a content update. Generally very chill

Find me at Gamescom to debate the following: 1) Rocket League Sideswipe is better than rocket league 2) Fallout Shelter is the best Fallout

Game design isn't only about adding. Figuring out what to remove can lead to big wins. This also applies to social play. The end goal shouldn't be a more social experience, but a better social experience. Limiting interactions can be good. A mute button often very very good.

Crypto game monetization will go through some major growing pains. Expect a lot of: "game was good, money ran out, what happened" Three issues I'd look out for #1 Revenue model not ambitious enough Weak streams: royalties, ads, one-off purchases, cosmetics in the wrong game...

Do you know you that in Rumble Arcade you have a level editor tool? yes this tool is used to style your battle arena and its a standout feature for me. So basically have to insert your user ID, you can get that after creating an account connected to your Discord. After that,

Yeah this. You can soft launch a game that falls apart after 7 days of play. That's normal. On paper, everything still needs to be scalable to basically infinity. If you don't think the game can be relevant in 5 years, why bother
