What a busy week! From introducing forget me not packs, meeting inspiring people at Mondays event, speaking/training staff across the trust, having a singalong on Oxhey ward and not forgetting the brilliant trolley dash yesterday Thank you to everyone who’s helped this week

Lots of fun was had on Oxhey ward yesterday for Wimbledon Wednesday. Balloon tennis, tennis quiz followed by strawberries and cream in the afternoon🍓🎾

It’s been a busy couple of weeks on Oxhey ward… Get the hoop on the cone, skittles, football on interactive table, painting autumnal trees with broccoli and of course a visit from Ralph, the pet therapy dog! 🐶

Patient’s on Oxhey ward have been busy decorating paper poppies for Armistice Day and decorating cakes for malnutrition awareness week. Thanks to the nutrition and dietetics team for the lovely cakes which was enjoyed by all.

It’s been a busy few weeks on Oxhey. Patients have been making paper chains (200), helping to decorate the tree and making decorations for the ward. We are looking forward to Christmas bingo and decorating gingerbread men for our tea party.

Patients enjoyed pancakes on Oxhey ward this week, adding their own toppings. We talked about our favourite toppings, we all agreed lemon and sugar was best!🥞 On Wednesday we enjoyed a game of Valentine’s bingo ❤️

Oxhey ward have been promoting Nutrition and Hydration week. We always encourage patients to sit at the table and have their lunch together. Seeing others eating and drinking helps them with their food and fluid intake.

Patients on Oxhey have been getting ready for Easter 🐣. We have made some decorations and today patients made some chocolate treats…. Not all of it made it into the paper cases! 😋🍫

After a year in my role as The Activity Coordinator on Oxhey Ward, I have just finished a display showcasing my role and some of our activities. Come down to level 3 and have a look, you’ll find it by the entrance to the ward.

It’s been a great week marking Dementia Action Week. Patients have been making a forget me not flower collage, cake decorating, singing at the tea party, playing bingo and doing a flower quiz. Thank you @KatieVovrosh for all your help and support, you are amazing!

Oxhey ward celebrated World Chocolate day (7.7.24). We talked about the history of chocolate, a chocolate quiz and of course finished with a Milky Way which everyone enjoyed. Did you know Chocolate was used as a form of currency? 🍫

It was Wimbledon Wednesday today on Oxhey ward. We have some patients that are tennis fans so they enjoyed a tennis quiz and a game of balloon tennis, followed by a treat of strawberries and cream in the afternoon 🎾🍓

Patients on Oxhey ward have been taking part in Olympic games activities. We have been painting the Olympic rings and had part 1 of mini Olympic Games, followed by ice lollies to cool everyone down. More to follow next week🏆🥇🥈🥉
