Been saying for a while cancer is not as easily modifiable as is CVD. Avoiding CVD is almost trivial now. What we need are cancer breakthroughs. It is of note here that many anti-aging drugs are strongly protective from cancer e.g. rapamycin, trametinib and Nrf2 activators.

More great news! Now 50% of the first subproject is funded when it comes to conduct the largest lifespan analysis of 568 mTOR inhibitors that has ever been done. The purpose with this project is to uncover even more potent mTOR inhibitors than Rapamycin when it comes to extending

Wow, the 2024 cohort in the ITP is fire. GlyNAC, trametinib Rapa, mianserin, anti histamine, deprenyl, sildenafil, apelisib. Two combos, obscure kinase inhibitors, the best pre rapa drug (deprenyl), several repurposing allstars. It has everything! nia.nih.gov/research/dab/i…

Super exciting: the safe, repeat-dosable, good-delivery-not-just-to-liver gene therapy platform of Entos (& underlying Oisin Bio) now published & in high profile journal. This platform will do great things. And aging applications already in development. cell.com/cell/fulltext/…

atrocity of aging: 16 courts, 100s of people, lots of fun, not a single person over 70. Do you think they don't want to play and have fun? They can't, aging robbed them of their abilities. its an attrocity and its very sad... its coming for all of us, in very short order

An interaction I have almost every week: "Did you see X intervention increases lifespan by (decent) % ??" "does it pass the Matt Kaeberlein test?" "what's that?" The most important tweet in longevity, and one I reference *every single week.* A 🧵:

First look at the genome sequence of Greenland shark to find possible clues that could explain their mind-boggling extreme lifespan of up to 400 years. - 70% of the genome is repetitive elements - many uniquely duplicated genes, many related to DNA repair pathway - p53 is not
