The second chapter of my PhD is out in Plant Cell & Environment! Here we explored the drought legacy effects on canopies of Eucalyptus viminalis and found some very interesting results 👀 spoiler: variation is playing a big role! Ibrahim Bourbia Brodribb Lab onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/pc…
What a great two weeks in Tasmania with Arko Lucieer and Leonard Hambrecht mapping giant and old trees for European Research Council (ERC) SPACETWIN. We managed to scan 10 giants (with some well over >80m in height).
🚨🗞️ New paper from us! Led by guru Emiliano Cimoli 👨🔬 Mapping functional diversity of forest canopy traits using drone based hyperspectral imagery 🚁🌿 Such a great study! Stoked to be a part of it and see this research published 👏 Give it a read here👇📖 sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
Lathamus Keep, a Tasmanian giant Eucalyptus globulus (+80 m tall) in the Huon Valley scanned by terrestrial and canopy laser scanning. At 8 m high, it’s diameter is still an astonishing 3 m! View it in 3D here: skfb.ly/oPUMI w. Arko Lucieer Leonard Hambrecht Barbara D'hont
🆕 PhD Paper in Journal of Phycology - From pixels to pigments! 📊Our research demonstrates the potential of #hyperspectral imaging 🌈 to quantify the pigmentation content and patterns of an Antarctic crustose coralline algae doi.org/10.1111/jpy.13… 🧠#CCA #corallinealgae #phycology
Congratulations to SAEF Deputy Director Distinguished Professor Sharon Robinson (Professor Sharon Robinson AM) on being awarded an ARC Laureate Fellowship! 👏👏👏 Sharon's project is "Islands in the Ice: Interpreting the future of Antarctic ecosystems." More info: rms.arc.gov.au/RMS/Report/Dow…
